- PublicationAccès libreA case of constructional contamination in English: Modified noun phrases influence adverb placement in the passiveThis paper discusses a case of what Pijpops and Van de Velde (2016) call constructional contamination. Specifically, we investigate the influence of English modified noun phrases on variation in adverb placement in the passive. On the basis of data from the COCA, we argue that highly frequent nominal expressions such as sexually transmitted disease influence adverb placement in the passive, which offers speakers a choice between adverb-initial order (The disease was sexually transmitted) and adverb-final order (The disease was transmitted sexually). Our results thus corroborate findings from Dutch corpora (Pijpops and Van de Velde 2016) and suggest that constructional contamination is a phenomenon that can be observed across different languages. We further discuss the role of constructional contamination for analogy and contrast.
- PublicationAccès libreA cultural psychological reading of ReligionpsychologieJacob Belzen’s Religionspsychologie (Belzen, 2015) is a fascinating, deeply scholarly written book retracing a century of psychology of religion in Europe and its relation to the rest of the world. It both shows the anchorage of psychology of religion in the debates taking place around the development of psychology, and in the evolution of Europe since the beginning of the 20th century. In this brief commentary, I highlight the qualities of this work, and especially its ability to retrace the complex human network of relationships that accompanied the development of a scientific society and its publications. I then suggest two possible ways to complement this analysis. First, as a developmental, sociocultural psychologist, I reflect on the fact that this field of enquiry, that aimed to be inter-confessional, came to be led essentially by scholars of Christian origin or addressing Christianity. Second, observing the diversity of approaches constituting psychology of religion today, highlighted by Belzen, I emphasize the diverse epistemologies grounding these works. I finally argue in favor of a pragmatic stance, which might both guide the field into issues of societal relevance, and allow psychology of religion to contribute to the development of psychology as a whole.

; ;Schoier, Gabriella ;Vichi, Maurizio ;Monari, Paola ;Mignani, StefaniaMontanari, AngelaThe development of Internet-based business has pointed out the importance of the personalisation and optimisation of Web sites. For this purpose the study of users behaviours are of great importance. In this paper we present a solution to the problem of identification of dense clusters in the analysis of Web Access Logs. We consider a modification of an algorithm recently proposed in social network analysis. This approach is illustrated by analysing a log-file of a web portal. - PublicationMétadonnées seulement

A developmental network intervention based on the approach of Developmental Work Research was conducted in the field of Social Services for Divorced Families to examine cross functional limitations through joint reflection of significant examples of client’s trajectories, and to discuss possibilities and directions for developing client-oriented network collaboration between services. With the help of interlocutory analysis, the professional concepts in use were tracked in the sequences of discussions that occurred during the intervention workshops. This analysis revealed how “hybrid concepts”, defined as concepts in use in the professional environment and re-used as intervention tools by the researchers, could support joint reflection by the professionals on the current limits of their professional joint activity. It also reveals how some “professional concepts” serve as symbolic resources to mediate both client-services’ and service-service relations. It is hypothesized that some professional concepts may serve as germs for expanding cross-functional collaborations. Finally, we sketch conditions and challenges for designing developmental, activity theory-based interventions for promoting client-oriented network collaborations. We argue that the ambiguity of intervention tools may contribute to the ability of professionals to elaborate their professional perspectives on a problematic case.
