    La evolución del uso de las labiales b y v en documentos coloniales ecuatorianos de los siglos XVI a XVIII

    The nivelling of bilabials b and v is a discuted and controverted study’s object in the field of Hispanic Phonology. It has been observed that in America, during the XVII and XVIII century, there was no distinction between these two phonemes in Buenos Aires, Tucumán, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Venezuela. This article brings a detailed analysis of the uses of b and v in the Audiencia of Quito, particulary in the XVI century, related with the information observed in the severals orthographic norms publicated from the end of the XV century., La igualación de las bilabiales b y v es un objeto de estudio muy discutido y controvertido en el ámbito de la fonología hispánica. En América ya se había observado que durante los siglos XVII y XVIII no se distinguían los dos fonemas en Buenos Aires, Tucumán, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Ecuador y Venezuela. Este artículo proporciona un análisis detallado del uso de la b y la v en la Audiencia de Quito, en particular en cuanto al siglo XVI, relacionando los datos observados con diferentes normas ortográficas que se publicaron a partir del final del siglo XV.

    Este libro ha sido escrito por Juan Pedro Sánchez Méndez, Elena Diez del Corral y Natacha Reynaud-Oudot. En este libro presentamos, reunidos, una serie de artículos que el equipo de Neuchâtel que formamos Diachronica hispánica hemos ido realizando a lo largo de cuatro años en el marco amplio de un proyecto de investigación subvencionado por el Fonds National Suisse de la Recheche dedicado al antiguo virreinato de Nueva Granada. Hemos creído conveniente reunir en un libro un conjunto de artículos en torno de la antigua Audiencia de Quito que, de otra manera, habrían quedado dispersos y diluidos, cuado no inaccesibles por haber aparecido en ediciones electrónicas de limitada o deficiente difusión, sometidas también a la eventualidad de lo efímero o con fecha de caducidad. El agruparlos tiene, además, la ventaja de poder integrar e interpretar mejor los resultados obtenidos de cada uno de ellos dentro de un conjunto mayor, que les sirve de contexto y les da un sentido más amplio a todos. También nos permite ofrecer en un solo libro un conjunto de investigaciones sobre una misma región americana muy interesante desde el punto de vista lingüístico y que ha recibido escasa atención por parte de la investigación sobre la historia lingüística hispanoamericana. Hay pues una laguna en los estudios que este libro pretende suplir, aunque sea (muy) parcialmente.

    Zweisprachig durch Immersionsunterricht ? Definitionen von Zweisprachigkeit und ihre Relevanz im bilingualen Sachfachunterricht

    The use of authentic documents is very common in bilingual programmes, which have become more and more frequent in Swiss colleges since the middle of the 1990s. However, this material is used in a context which, especially at first sight, may appear a bit artificial. In such a tuitional setting, the way in which teachers and learners characterise the language of immersion and position themselves against it is highly significant: Is this language seen as a "foreign language", as a "partner language" or as a "personal language"? Do the students consider themselves as more and more efficient users that make use of a bi- or multilingual repertoire, and are they seen as such by their teachers? Working on data collected for a research project on immersion teaching in colleges, we will on the one hand analyse how teachers and learners define the concept of bilingualism and how this concept is used by actors in the context of immersion teaching. On the other hand, we will also consider to what extent the definition of bilingualism could be relevant for the way the students see themselves in a bilingual programme, as well as the way they are perceived from the outside.
