Abstract
This study concerns French subjunctive constructions producing an hypothetical interpretation, as que je bouge (et) il me ramènera vite à l’ordre. The syntactical characteristics of those binary structures allow us to question some well established methodological presuppositions. In the first part of our study, we present those axioms and explain why, in our opinion, they should be objected to. In the second part, we propose an analysis of those subjunctive constructions in the macro-syntactical context, a theoretic model that permit us to present an original approach of those constructions which traditionally raise problems for the grammatical analysis. Should they be seen as a coordination, a subordination or a correlation phenomenon, or further more as an autonomous clause ?
