Résumé
This paper examines verbal collocations with the lexical bases Daten/dane (data) and Hypothese /hipoteza (hypothesis) in 1,000 German and Polish academic texts from the fields of linguistics and literature, glottodidactics and medicine. The collocations are analysed on both a horizontal (i.e. syntagmatic) and vertical (i.e. paradigmatic) level. The following research questions are of special interest: Which collocations are generated using these lexical bases in German and Polish academic language? Can the collocations in both languages be assigned to the same types of speech acts? And where can we observe differences and similarities in their usage?
