Résumé
MEDIAL (Moniteur d’évaluation des difficultés de l’apprenti lecteur = Evaluation monitoring of reading difficulties for beginners) is a global evaluation tool for reading including several theorical models (Chauveau, Ferreiro, Fijalkow, Sprenger-Charolles). It is used here in an institution for children presenting personality and behavioural troubles, and delayed writing skills. Regarding the reading representations (what is need of read learning?) of 24 evaluated children, 4 have functional and cultural representations of the reading; 8 have circular representation (directed toward school only) and 12 have mixed representations in spite of their reading and psychic difficulties. The representation of this learning (how to do?) seems more acute as reading is progressing; at least for children who do not present a strong psychotic pathology and have a good self-esteem.
