Le présent projet a pour objectif d'étudier l'usage de la figure du fantôme dans une littérature dite des "limites" qui se manifeste dans la première moitié du XXe siècle. Si les fantômes ont fait l'objet d'études approfondies ces dernières années dans le champ de la littérature ainsi que dans celui de la philosophie, c'est en omettant toute une période de la modernité esthétique et littéraire. L'étude des fantômes présents dans la littérature de la première moitié du XXe siècle reste donc encore à faire et c'est dans cette carence critique que nous inscrivons ce projet de recherche. Notre travail se concentrera dans un premier temps sur les notions des "limites" et sur celles qui construisent l'expérience d'une posture de désubjectivisation du sujet. En les confrontant à la multitude d'énonciations "spectrales", nous tâcherons de saisir l'historicité de ce qui semble être une nouvelle posture ontologique du sujet moderne. Dans un deuxième temps, nous nous pencherons sur un corpus à la fois poétique et critique pour observer les mouvements spectraux qui s'y dessinent. Nous proposons le terme de "mécaniques spectrales" pour analyser ce qui dans ces oeuvres énonce un désir paradoxal qui semble animer tout un pan de la modernité littéraire : le désir de sortir de soi. À travers des auteurs comme Georges Bataille, Maurice Blanchot, Robert Desnos, Roger Caillois ou encore Michel Leiris, nous suivrons de près tous ces fantômes qui apparaissent et disparaissent, tentant de dessiner les contours d'une poétique de la spectralité qui façonnerait une nouvelle manière d'aborder et de penser le texte dans son rapport à la modernité et au savoir. Abstract : Ghostly Mechanics in the Literature of Limits The present project aims to study the use of the figure of the ghost in the Literature of "Limits" that manifests itself in the first half of the twentieth century. If ghosts have been studied in depth in recent years in the fields of literature and philosophy, it is by omitting a whole period of aesthetic and literary modernity. The study of the ghosts present in the literature of the first half of the twentieth century remains to be done. It is in this critical gap that we inscribe our research project. First, we will focus on the notions of "limits" and on those which construct the experience of a posture of desubjectivization of the subject. By confronting them to the multitude of "ghostly" enunciations, we will try to grasp the historicity of what seems to be a new ontological posture of the modern subject. In a second step, we will look at a corpus that is both poetic and critical in order to observe the spectral movements that take shape there. We propose the term "ghostly mechanics" to analyze what in these works expresses a paradoxical desire that seems to animate a whole part of literary modernity: the desire to get out of oneself. Finally, through authors such as Georges Bataille, Maurice Blanchot, Robert Desnos, Roger Caillois or Michel Leiris, we will follow closely follow all these ghosts that appear and disappear, trying to draw the contours of a poetics of spectrality that would shape a new way of approaching and thinking the text in its relationship to modernity and knowledge.
