Synthesis of Pyrroles via the Cross-Aldol Reaction

Substituted pyrroles and pyrrolo[l,2-<i>b</i>]isoquinoline derivatives are obtained via the cross-aldol reaction of silyi enol ethers with <i>N</i>'acylaminoacetone acetals or phthalimidoacetone acetals, respectively.
