Abstract
The trinuclear arene-Ru cluster cation [H3Ru3(?6-C6H6)(?6-C6H4MePri-p)2(?3-O)]+ was synthesized and crystd. as the hexafluorophosphate salt. Crystals of the compd. are orthorhombic, space group Imma, with a 19.522(4), b 10.738(2), c 13.628(3) Å; Z = 4, dc = 1.892; R = 0.033, Rw(F2) = 0.078 for 1505 reflections. The cation possesses a mirror plane through the (?6-benzene)ruthenium moiety and the ?3-O atom, and is disordered over a perpendicular mirror plane that includes the three Ru atoms. [on SciFinder(R)]
