Abstract
A mixed tetranuclear cluster of Ru and Co, undecacarbonyl-tri-?-hydrido-(tricyclohexylphosphine)trirutheniumcobalt, was synthesized by reaction between Co2(CO)8 and the electron-deficient cluster [Ru3H2(CO)6(PCy3)3]. The compd. was characterized, both spectroscopically and crystallog. Crystals are monoclinic, space group P21/n, with a 9.6492(8), b 16.4487(9), c 21.6012(17) Å, ? 92.583(10)°; Z = 4, dc = 1.850; R = 0.036, Rw(F2) = 0.091 for 6430 reflections. The mol. structure shows a tetrahedral metal core. The tris(cyclohexyl)phosphine ligand is attached in an axial position to one of the Ru atoms of the basal face. [on SciFinder(R)]
