Abstract
Reaction of the dimeric hydroxo di-n-butylstannane trifluoromethanesulfonato complex [Bu2Sn(?-OH)(H2O)(CF3SO3)]2 (1) with a mixt. of anthracene and phenazine in dichloromethane at room temp. yielded the novel di-n-butyltin(IV) trifluoromethanesulfonate salt {[Bu2Sn(H2O)]2(?-O)Bu2Sn(OH)2}(CF3SO3)2 (2), together with the co-crystn. of phenazinium trifluoromethanesulfonate salts [(C12H9N2H)2(C12H9N2)][CF3SO3]2 (3) and [(C12H9N2H)2(C14H10)][CF3SO3]2 (4, C14H10 = anthracene) collected in the solid state in two distinct self-assembled architectures showing ?-? stacking interactions, and involving the intercalation of free mols. of phenazine and anthracene, resp. Complex 2 is a cationic trinuclear cluster, dihydrated, possessing a planar Sn3O3 core and surrounded by two non-coordinating trifluoromethanesulfonate anions. Each tin atom is coordinated to three oxygen atoms and also bound to two Bu ligands, thus exhibiting a trigonal bipyramidal geometry. In addn., oxygen atoms of CF3SO3 anions are involved in hydrogen bonding and long Sn-O distance interactions lead to the formation of a supramol. two-dimensional network in the solid state.
