Abstract
This Working Paper results from a joint seminar conducted in 2025 by Janine Dahinden (University of Neuchâtel) and Sabine Strasser (University of Bern). It brings together revised student papers presented at the November 2025 student conference, examining solidarities through critical humanitarian and reflexive migration studies. The papers explore deterrence, deportation, and migration surveillance while critically reflecting on solidarity and humanitarianism, highlighting their ambivalences in the context of growing anti-migration rhetoric and political upheavals.
