After the parution of some new results on primitive weird numbers, some new techniques appeared to be very promising in proving the infiniteness of primitive weird numbers and possibly the exsitence of odd weird numbers. The developement of these techniques have been presented in various number theory conferences and some new results of the research team appeared in Journal of Number Theory in 2015 and 2019.
