Abstract
The polymn. of 4,4'-(decamethylenedioxy)dibenzaldehyde and 4,4'-(decamethylenedioxy)diacetophenone with 2,3,5,6-tetramethyl-p-phenylenediamine, 4,4'-ethylenedianiline, 4,4'-ethylenebis(aminocyclohexane), 3,3'-dimethylbenzidine, or 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine yielded liq.-cryst. materials, the phase-transition temps. of which were detd. The phase-transition temps. and entropy changes assocd. with the melting and clearing points of several bis(azomethine) model compds. were shown. [on SciFinder(R)]
