Abstract
The synthesis and mesomorphic properties of the first ferrocene-contg. side-chain liq.-cryst. polymers, obtained by grafting either a 1,1'- or 1,3-disubstituted ferrocene deriv. functionalized by a vinyl group onto a polysiloxane, are reported. These polymers showed enantiotropic smectic C and/or smectic A phases. [on SciFinder(R)]
