Teaching orthography to allophone adults is the source of specific problems to which the knowledge of grammatical rules applied to exercises gives no satisfactory answer. These persons have a competence of their own language and the question is how to let them acquire new automatisms. The progression put forward is: <br>1. Identification of the deviations from the rules by means of a diagram which helps to draw an orthographic profile. <br>2. Orthographical profile. <br>3. Remedying, taking into account linguistic considerations and the competence of the person. <br>4. Pedagogical processes based on analogy and substitution. <br>5. Positive evaluation.
