Abstract
A propos de l'evolution de l'usage de gravures representant des oeuvres d'art a des fins savants, notamment en Angleterre, autour de 1800. L'auteur mentionne plus particulierement William Young Ottley, qui publia en 1826 un recueil sous le titre A series of plates, engraved after the paintings and sculptures of the most eminent masters of the early Florentine School, intended to illustrate the history of the restoration of the arts of design in Italy.
