The maquette envisages the Swiss Time Center for Expo 67 in Montreal, which would bring together an Oscillatom, a time-distribution unit, and a Patek Philippe digital clock. The time controlled by the Oscillatom was to be distributed to secondary clocks throughout the exhibition, such as the one shown on the left, marked “SWISS” within the dial and “Swiss Official Time / EXPO 67 / Heure Officielle” below it. The explanatory text visible on the right-hand panel is only placeholder material: it was copied from a contemporary General Electric advertisement for a refrigerator and does not describe the timekeeping installation.
