    The Changing Role of IT Departments in Enterprise Mashups Environments
    (2008)
    Hoyer, Volker
    ;
    A new paradigm, known as Enterprise Mashups, implicates a shift concerning the service development and consumption process: end users combine and reuse existing Web-based resources within minutes to new applications in order to solve an individual and ad-hoc business problem. In such democratized operational environments, the role of IT departments is changing. They are no longer solely responsible for developing or installing business applications. Instead, end users in the business units compose their own operational environment in a collaborative manner. This paper analyses and discusses challenges and the changing role of IT departments toward service intermediaries.

    Enterprise Mashups: Neue Herausforderung für das Projektmanagement
    (2008)
    Hoyer, Volker
    ;
    Eine neue Generation von Webapplikationen verändert die Softwareentwicklung und -anwendung grundlegend. Neue Entwicklungen, bekannt unter dem Begriff Enterprise Mashups, ermöglichen es Endnutzern, auf Basis existierender Webressourcen individuelle Applikationen innerhalb von Minuten zu erstellen. Nicht mehr alleine die IT-Abteilung ist dabei für die Erstellung der Unternehmensapplikationen zuständig, sondern die Endnutzer stellen sich entsprechend ihren kontinuierlich veränderten Bedürfnissen ihre eigenen Arbeitsumgebungen im Browser zusammen. Aus Perspektive des IT-Managements impliziert diese individuelle Softwareherstellung und -anwendung neue Anforderungen hinsichtlich des Projektmanagements. http://hmd.dpunkt.de/260/index.html

    Web 2.0-Entwicklung - ewige Beta-Version

    Eine neue Generation von internetbasierten Community-Plattformen wie YouTube, Flickr oder del.icio.us hat in den letzten Jahren großes Interesse in Forschung und Industrie hervorgerufen. Diese Plattformen beziehen den Nutzer als zentralen Teil des Applikationsdesigns explizit mit ein und prägen einen neuen Trend in der Entwicklung von Web-Anwendungen. Zahlreiche Funktionalitäten, die exakt den Bedürfnissen der Nutzer entsprechen, können so bereitgestellt und kontinuierlich weiterentwickelt werden. Dem Paradigma der ewigen Beta-Version entsprechend, stellen Web 2.0-basierte Anwendungen keine statischen Softwareartefakte mehr da. Sie sind vielmehr dezentrale Dienste, die sowohl von Nutzern als auch von Betreibern ständig angepasst werden können. Die fortwährende Anpassung von Web 2.0-Plattformen stellt insbesondere an den Entwicklungsprozess neue Anforderungen. Durch Anwendung von klassischen Methoden der Softwareentwicklung können diese nicht erfüllt werden. Dieser Artikel beschreibt damit verbundene Herausforderungen und mögliche Lösungsansätze und illustriert diese mit zahlreichen Beispielen. http://www.christoph-schroth.de

    Recently, blogs have gained a lot of attention as an instrument within corporate communication. There are numerous discussions and research projects in various academic disciplines about blogs creating a diffuse body of knowledge with different concepts, notions, and ideas. This paper summarises typologies from these different disciplines and tries to integrate them into a multidimensional model in which all relevant aspects and applications of blogs are considered. The results are summarised in the St. Galler blog cube.

    Toward a Community-Oriented Design of Internet Platforms
    Building user communities can contribute significantly to the success of an on-line platform. The literature on establishing on-line communities and on extending existing platforms with functionalities that enable community building emphasizes the social and economic aspects of community building and neglects the technical aspects. On-line communities have two elements: community members and platform. The platform provides a virtual social meeting space and shapes communication with the service it provides. In order to determine what kind of services will enable, stimulate, and foster community building, this paper identifies community modules and proposes a typology of on-line communities and their community-supporting platforms.
