- PublicationAccès libreA Comprehensive Socio-economic Model of the Experience Economy : the Territorial Stage(2014)
; This paper deals with the economic dimension of the experience economy, i.e. how economic value is created between customers and producers and is articulated to monetary transactions. After discussing the Pine & Gilmore’s metaphor of stage and concept of admission fees, we propose the model of the Territorial Stage constituted by two elements. First, the Territorial Stage depends on the accumulation of transactions along history (complex process in time and space). Second, the accumulation of the transactions constitutes the territorial stage under a concrete dimension (arrangement, spatial organization, activities, etc.) and a symbolic dimension (image, reputation, level of range and price). From this core concept, we then suggest an operational typology of Territorial Economic Transactions (TETs) to analyse the history of Swiss tourism resorts. Indeed, tourism resorts are good examples of the fact that value, in the experience economy, is not produced at the scale of a business but beyond companies. Conclusions suggest that today’s development of the EE is the result of a double movement of ‘touristification’. First, the mobility of people increases and opens infinite possibilities to develop presential transactions. Second, traditional goods are more and more transformed into goods enriched by symbolic territorial meanings. - PublicationAccès libreA critical discussion on the impact of glacier shrinkage upon population mobility in the bolivian andes(2013)This article examines the role of glacial retreat on people migration in the Bolivian Andes. In the Andean region, glacial retreat is one of the most noticeable effects of global warming. Significant acceleration in glacial melting has been observed since the 1980s and glacial runoff is vital to the region, supporting local ecosystems as well as providing water for drinking, irrigation and energy production. In academic literature, international medias and NGO reports it is often assumed that these impacts are severely affecting the livelihood of the local population who may be forced to migrate. Based upon a literature review and a case study in the Bolivian Andes, this paper brings a critical discussion on this assumption. The confrontation of two bodies of academic literature, the first on migration and climate change and the second on glacial retreat impacts allows the conceptualisation of some mechanisms to understand how the impact of glacial retreat may be considered as migration drivers. These mechanisms are then illustrated and discussed with a case study that brings empirical insights on mobility patterns of rural communities living on the edge of a retreating glacier.

; Genève affiche le taux de population migrante le plus élevé de Suisse et se caractérise par une forte mobilité internationale de sa population, très diverse du point de vue socio-économique et en termes d’origines, de trajectoires. Dans ce contexte, le Département de la cohésion sociale et de la solidarité (DCSS) de la Ville de Genève, en collaboration avec le Bureau de l’intégration des étrangers du Canton, a chargé le SFM de l’Université de Neuchâtel de mener une étude sur l’accessibilité de son offre de services : le but est d’apprécier dans quelle mesure les habitant·e·s migrant·e·s, font appel aux prestations municipales de proximité. Les résultats soulignent, entre autres, le potentiel de l’intervention sociale de proximité facilitant les contacts personnels et un conseil sur mesure : une démarche qui se révèle particulièrement précieuse pour répondre aux besoins des personnes migrantes vulnérables. L’examen de différentes prestations met également en évidence les obstacles communicationnels, administratifs et financiers, ainsi que les diverses mesures déjà prises par la Ville pour y faire face. - PublicationAccès libreActes du 2ème colloque : « Médiation et remédiation didactiques »(1988)

; Stants, FabienneObschon die Situation der Cabaret-Tänzerinnen in der Öffentlichkeit immer wieder Aufmerksamkeit erregt, existiert bislang wenig gesichertes Wissen über ihre Arbeits- und Lebensbedingungen. Die vorliegende Studie springt in diese Lücke. Auf der Basis von qualitativen ExpertInneninterviews sowie einer halbstandardisierten Befragung von Cabaret-Tänzerinnen gibt sie Antworten auf folgende Fragen: Wie präsentieren sich die Arbeits- und Lebensbedingungen von Cabaret-Tänzerinnen in der Schweiz, und von welchen Faktoren sind sie beeinflusst? Lassen sich Diskrepanzen zwischen den rechtlichen Vorgaben und der Rechtspraxis im Arbeitsalltag ausmachen? Die Autorinnen zeigen die Komplexität der Einflussfaktoren auf die Situation der Cabaret-Tänzerinnen und zeichnen nach, inwiefern diese von der Bedingung der Migration, unter anderem den migrations-politischen Vorgaben, und dem Kontext der Sexarbeit mitbestimmt sind.
