Facebook: an information platform for young people and an audience vector for the media

Résumé |
A growing number of different media have stated that they consider
(based on official metrics) Facebook to be a central platform for
the publication and circulation of information and a key vector for
its consumption. The popularity of this socio-technical device
(dispositif) has made the diversity of profiles and user practices
concerning information a relevant subject for study. This is what
we also decided to do by making a quantitative and qualitative
empirical survey to study the heterogeneity of perceptions of the
platform regarding information as well as the varied ways people
consider and practice the digital social network as an
informational and communicational resource in this vein. |
