This article explores the writing process of Luis Alberto
de Cuenca’s Sin miedo ni esperanza (2002), examining the
previous textual background that starts at El bosque
(1997), a plaquette which we posit as the thematic and
even structural basis of Sin miedo ni esperanza. After
analyzing the four central poems of El bosque in detail, we explain
how the individual message of these texts is transformed, thanks to
the book’s disposition, into a general idea, a trajectory by the
lyrical voice. Subsequently, we contrast this tone with
Alicia’s (1999), a booklet that includes some of El bosque’s
poems, but with omissions and additions, and, above all, a very
different structure. Finally, we explain how Luis Alberto de Cuenca
build Sin miedo ni esperanza combining the publications of 1997 and
1999, plus other texts, in an original final product that maintains
the basic structure of El bosque. |
